Howard Community College opened the $76.7 million Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET) Building in August of 2017 in Columbia, Md. Designed by Ayers Saint Gross, the 145,300-sf facility provides dedicated labs for programs in engineering, genetics, geology, computer forensics, cybersecurity, and plant science. The project accommodates 1,000 classroom seats and offers study areas for groups and individuals.

Additionally, Howard Community College has selected Marshall Craft Associates and The S/L/A/M Collaborative to design a full interior renovation of two existing buildings that accommodate programs in nursing, science, and technology. The 107,204-gsf project will provide 62,278 assignable square feet of collaborative academic space for interactive learning. The $36.5 million facility will house flexible classrooms, technology-rich teaching labs, offices, study spaces, a lecture hall, a student commons, and a café. Completion is expected in fall of 2019.
