Rocky Mountain Laboratories is planning to construct a $70 million animal research vivarium in Hamilton, Mont. Accelerating the lab’s response to emerging infectious diseases, the 40,000-sf facility will provide additional holding facilities, including specialized housing environments for arthropods and non-traditional lab animals. The National Institutes of Health is funding the project from resources allocated through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES). Construction is slated to begin in spring of 2021 and completion is expected in fall of 2023.
