Related Companies and Olympia Development are planning to break ground in 2023 on the Detroit Center for Innovation. Created as a public/private partnership, the campus will be anchored by a $250 million research and education building that will be operated by the University of Michigan. The 200,000-sf facility will accommodate advanced degree programs in data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, mobility, and financial technology. Designed by KPF, the iconic structure will enhance collaboration with industry and community organizations while providing a pipeline of talent for regional employers.
Located on four acres in The District Detroit, the development will include the renovation of an existing structure to house a technology incubator and coworking venue, as well as the construction of 300 residential units and adjacent green spaces.
