Speaker Profile: Sean Towne, FAIA, LEED AP
Sean Towne has focused his career on the design and execution of laboratory and science building design. His experience as a prime architect followed by 20 years of specialization has led to his understanding of the complexities of laboratory building design and allows him to successfully integrate specialized planning and systems into building design at conceptual and detailed levels. Sean has completed over 80 education, research, vivarium and containment laboratory projects for both domestic and international clients. He has also served as a peer reviewer for institutional clients and reviewer for NIH Grant Applications. He is professionally affiliated with such organizations as the Society for College and University Planning, Tradeline and Project Kaleidoscope. Sean has delivered conference presentations on a range of topics including Specialized Functions that Shape Research Facilities, Open Laboratory Design for Research, Trends in Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories, Benchmarking for Effective Programming, Solutions for Mixed-Model Teaching & Research Facilities and Biosafety Level 3 Programs that Impact Research Facilities.
