Eric currently serves as the Executive Director of Wellness and Recreation at NC State University where he is responsible for all wellness and recreation programs, services, and facilities. He was named Director of University Recreation at NC State in November 2011 and assumed the responsibility of the institution's recreation and fitness programs, services and facilities designed for 35,000 students and 10,000 faculty, staff and affiliates. In October 2017, Eric was promoted to Executive Director and was charged with leading the campus-wide wellness effort. He leads a staff of 32 professionals and approximately 650 student employees with an annual operating budget of more than $6.5 million.
Eric and his team have transformed NC State's wellness, recreation, and fitness programs and facilities into one of the nation's finest. Working in partnership with student leaders, Eric secured funding and executed several significant facility enhancement projects. The most recent is the $45 million Wellness and Recreation Center currently under construction and is expected to open Fall 2020. In addition, an $8 million locker room renovation was completed in 2015.
Prior to NC State, Eric served as the Director of Campus Recreation at Florida Atlantic University. While at FAU he led the design and construction of the $20 million Recreation and Fitness Center, $5 million Track and Field Complex, and $9 million renovation of the FAU Arena. Finally, at the University of Missouri, Eric served as a member of the design team for the $51 million Mizzou Student Rec Complex.
Eric received his bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Florida.
