Jennifer P. McDowell (NCIDQ, LEED AP) is the Director of Design and Construction for Campus Design and Facility Development at Carnegie Mellon University. After a decade of working as a design consultant for CMU, she seamlessly transitioned into managing projects directly for the university by drawing on her expertise leading design and construction teams. Jennifer’s passion for enriching the student experience shines through in the renovated Wean Sorrells Library, which breathed new life into an underutilized and outdated resource. Recently stepping from a project management to a directorial role, she is currently the Project Director for ANSYS Hall and the upcoming reconstruction of Scaife Hall, both hallmark facilities for the CMU Maker Ecosystem, embodying the College of Engineering’s place at the frontier of technological advancement. Jennifer is also overseeing the university wide commitment to creating innovative templates for the campus environment that can be effectively replicated across all teaching and learning disciplines. Jennifer has 25 years of experience in the industry and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from La Roche College.
