Stepanka Elias has recently accepted position of Executive Director, Facilities at the University of Waterloo – a vibrant campus of over 9million square feet of space with focus on transformational research and inspired learning. Stepanka’s portfolio includes a wide range of responsibilities: Capital Planning, Design & Development, Construction as well as Operations & Maintenance of all campus buildings and infrastructure.
Prior to joining University of Waterloo, Stepanka worked at Unversity of Toronto for nineteen years and played a key role in planning, design and construction of eight new academic buildings with a cost of over $400M. Stepanka also managed the Caretaking, Grounds, and Building Operations Divisions, and set up infrastructure program for deferred maintenance management.
