Luther W. McDonald IV is the Core Facilities Director at Oregon State University, where he leads the strategic development, governance, and sustainability of shared research infrastructure across the institution. He works closely with university leadership, faculty, and external partners to expand access to advanced instrumentation, streamline operations, and align core facilities with institutional and national research priorities. Prior to this role, Dr. McDonald was a professor of nuclear engineering and a power user of shared research infrastructure, leveraging university and DOE national laboratory facilities as well as visiting scientist appointments to access international research facilities in France and Australia.
