Convention Center, Hotel and Performing Arts Center in Schauberg

The Village of Schaumburg, Ill. has selected John Portman Associates (JP&A) as architect for the new $225 million Convention Center, Hotel and Performing Arts Center. JP&A will serve as the complex's master designer and planner, with HNTB Corporation as associate architect for the convention center and Daniel P. Coffey and Associates as associate architect for the performing arts center. The 350,000-sf convention center will be located on a 45-acre site and will feature an exhibit hall, a major ballroom, and a large meeting room facility. Supporting the convention center will be a 500-room hotel. The 2400-seat performing arts center will host multiple functions, with surface and structured parking available for approximately 3000 cars.
