Paradigm Genetics Completes New RTP Facility

Paradigm Genetics has completed construction of their new 53,000-sf plant genetic research lab and administration facility. The administration areas include moveable furniture partitions with power, UPS, data, flourescent and specialty lighting, conference areas and breakrooms. Lab and support areas include casework, hoods and environmental chambers, chillers, boilers, HVAC contrals, backup generator, UPS, data and specialized process equipment for plant growth/fungal research. Part of the new facility is the GeneFunction Factory--an integrated, rapid, industrial-scale lab for discovering and modifying genes, measuring the consequences of the modifications, and reliably determining the function of those genes. Clark, Richardson & Biskup Consulting Engineers, Inc., provided engineering and construction services. O'Brien/Atkins designed the facility. The construction contractor was Miller Building Company.
