Published 5/28/2002

The City Court of Atlanta has selected the Atlanta office of Turner Construction Company to build a new $55-million courthouse. Construction of the six-story, 200,000-sf facility is slated for completion in August 2003. The project is being developed by Atlanta Capital Courts Facilities, which will supervise program management and design-build responsibilities for the project. The design build team is Turner/Mitchell/OLH, a joint venture of Turner Construction Company, ER Mitchell Construction Company of Atlanta and OLH International, Atlanta. The architect is Turner Associates Architects and Planners, Atlanta.  The new courthouse will increase operational efficiency by offering increased security features, advanced technology, larger public waiting areas, customer-friendly creature comforts, expanded space for record storage, and improved accommodations for the disabled. The City Court of Atlanta provides access for over 15 different law enforcement agencies.
