Ford Motor Company, based in Dearborn, Mich. is considering existing structures or possible development of a new facility to house a 200,000-sf distribution facility, possibly in North Carolina, slated to open within the next year. Due to a major restructuring of the company in January, Ford plans to build 11 additional U.S. distribution centers to speed replacement parts delivery to dealers nationwide. Ford currently has a 300,000-sf building under construction in Irvine, Calif.
