Clear Channel Builds Corporate Service Center

Published 9/12/2002

Clear Channel Worldwide is nearing completion of its 123,000-sf Corporate Service Center in Stone Oak, Texas. The three-story, $15-million project will house a data center, a network operations center, seven call centers, and administrative offices. Construction is slated for completion at the end of October 2002, with occupancy of the data center beginning as early as Sept. 15. Employees will occupy the rest of the facility in phases over the next few months. The center will employ 400 workers. The 4,000-sf data center may eventually expand to encompass an additional 4,000-sf.

The center features solar shading on the east, south and west-facing windows, and is topped by a 108-ft antenna that acts as a lightning deterrent. Future plans include three additional buildings, totaling approximately 240,000 sf, and a parking garage to be built at the site over the next 10 to 15 years. Master planning, design, programming, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, plumbing, and interior design for the project were provided by the San Antonio office of Carter & Burgess.
