Bayhealth Breaks Ground on Milford Hospital Campus
Bayhealth will break ground in late May of 2016 on a $275 million hospital campus in Milford, Del. Providing 128 private beds, the project includes a six-story inpatient building, a 30-bay emergency department with behavioral health rooms, six surgical suites, two procedure rooms, and ambulatory care clinics. Illuminated by abundant natural light, the facility is designed to optimize the efficiency of staff operations as well as patient accessibility and navigation. Occupancy is expected by January of 2019.
Indiana State University Builds College of Health and Human Services
Indiana State University will begin construction in summer of 2016 on a $64 million renovation and expansion of the existing Arena Building to create a new home for the College of Health and Human Services in Terre Haute. The project includes reconfiguration of interior space, significant upgrades to building systems and infrastructure, and construction of an 87,000-sf addition. Completion is expected in early 2019.
Oregon Health & Sciences University Builds Research and Healthcare Facilities
Oregon Health & Sciences University began construction in January of 2016 on the $349 million Center for Health and Healing South in Portland, Ore. Designed by ZGF Architects and built by Hoffman Construction, the project includes a 14-story medical building and a 10-story mixed-use facility. The $160 Knight Cancer Institute will also be built on the South Waterfront Campus.
West Chester Medical Center Plans Outpatient Pavilion
Westchester Medical Center will break ground in June of 2016 on a $230 million outpatient pavilion in Valhalla, N.Y. Built by Skanska USA, the eight-story, 280,000-sf facility will include a heart and vascular institute, an imaging center, an ambulatory surgical center, clinical space, and a 20,000-sf expansion for the adjacent hospital with private inpatient rooms. Completion is expected in 2018.
Byron Central Hospital Completes Ewingsdale Facility
Byron Central Hospital completed the construction of its new $65 million facility in Ewingsdale, Australia, in March of 2016. The three-story, 101,000-sf hospital was designed by Nettleton Tribe and provides an emergency department, inpatient rooms, outpatient clinics, a maternity center, a chemotherapy suite, a dental clinic, and a mental health facility. General contractor Brookfield Multiplex began construction on the project in October of 2014.
