Creighton University Begins Construction on Health Sciences Campus
Creighton University began construction in July of 2019 on a $100 million health sciences campus in midtown Phoenix. Located at Park Central, the 180,000-sf facility will accommodate programs in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistance, emergency services, and occupational and physical therapy. The project team includes architect Butler Design Group, general contractor Okland Construction, and developer Plaza Companies.
Southwest Community College Constructs Health Sciences Building
Southwest Community College is building a $20 million health sciences building in Sylva, N.C. Designed by LS3P, the 55,000-sf facility will accommodate programs including nursing, occupational therapy, emergency medical science, medical sonography, surgical technology, opticianry, radiology, and speech-language pathology. The collaborative three-story building will provide technology-rich simulation training suites, teaching labs, classrooms, offices, and support spaces.
Drexel University and Tower Health Break Ground on College of Medicine
Drexel University and Tower Health broke ground in June of 2019 on the 150,000-sf Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health in Wyomissing, Pa. The four-year regional campus will offer advanced simulation training suites, traditional classrooms, flexible learning environments, lecture halls, anatomy labs, and an information commons. Designed by The S/L/A/M Collaborative, the facility will support optimal student health and wellbeing with a fitness center, indoor and outdoor recreation areas, lounges, a game room, and a café.
Orange Coast College Breaks Ground on Kinesiology & Athletics Complex
Orange Coast College broke ground on the $36 million Kinesiology and Athletics Complex in May of 2019 in Costa Mesa, Calif. Designed by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, the three-building, 88,000-sf project will house division offices, athletic training and adaptive physical education rooms, student support spaces, locker rooms, a 65-meter competition pool, a 25-meter instructional pool, and a covered 450-person bleacher. Midwestern State University Builds Health Sciences Center
Midwestern State University is building the $40 million Centennial Hall in Wichita Falls, Texas. Housing the Gunn College of Health Sciences and Human Services, the four-story, 87,000-sf building will feature an 80-person round classroom, a learning stair, a collaborative student lounge, and a full-height atrium. The center will provide simulation training suites, classrooms, and teaching labs for programs in nursing, dental hygiene, radiologic sciences, respiratory care, and social work.
