OncoSec Opens San Diego Headquarters and Research Facility

OncoSec Medical Incorporated, a company developing DNA-based intratumoral cancer immunotherapies, opened its new headquarters and research facility in San Diego in December of 2015. Consolidating three previous offices, the 34,000-sf project houses over 50 employees and all of OncoSec's discovery research, clinical, and administrative activities under one roof. The facility features approximately 15,000 sf of technology-rich lab space that is strategically arranged to optimize workflow and minimize potential disruptions.

Carleton University Constructs Health Sciences Building

Carleton University began construction in December of 2015 on a $52 million (USD$36.8 million) health sciences building in Ottawa. The seven-story, 120,000-sf facility will provide classrooms and open laboratories to support neuroscience and health sciences programs. The project will also include collaborative research space for the study of healthy aging and infectious diseases. Completion is expected in August of 2017.

Daley College Plans Advanced Manufacturing Center

Richard J. Daley College will begin construction in 2016 on a $75 million advanced manufacturing center in Chicago. The project will support the estimated 14,000 manufacturing jobs that are projected to come to Chicago in the next ten years. The facility will open in fall of 2018.

Baylor St. Luke’s Builds Houston Medical Campus

Baylor St. Luke’s is building a $1.1 billion medical campus in Houston. Created by Catholic Health Initiatives and Baylor College of Medicine, the project includes a $917 million, 650-bed hospital with two bed towers as well an ambulatory care complex and laboratories for basic and translational research. The 27.5-acre McNair Campus will enable Baylor St. Luke’s to consolidate clinical services currently located at the Texas Medical Center and will also be the future site of the Texas Heart Institute.

Saint Mary's University Constructs Science & Learning Center

Saint Mary's University is building the $19 million Science and Learning Center in Winona, Minn. The three-story, 50,000-sf teaching and research facility will physically connect to the existing Adducci Science Center and will provide advanced labs and classrooms to support interactive learning. Designed and built by Wight & Company of Chicago, the center will feature a 120-seat tiered auditorium and a three-story atrium. Ground was broken on the project in October of 2015 and completion is expected in June of 2017.
