Montana State University Bozeman Renovates Cooley Laboratory
Montana State University Bozeman will begin construction in November of 2010 on a $17 million renovation of Cooley Laboratory. Supported by $14.9 million in federal stimulus funding, the project will create a 31,000-sf research facility for the study of infectious and neurological diseases, select agents, and the application of laser physics to biomedical problems. The project architect is Architects Design Group of Kalispell, Mont. Completion is expected in fall of 2012.
Indiana University School of Medicine Plans Pediatric Translational Research Facility
Indiana University School of Medicine is initiating a renovation at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis to house pediatric translational research. The 18,500-sf facility will provide laboratories, bio-storage, a videoconferencing suite, and office space. Completion is expected in late 2012. The renovation is supported by nearly $8.4 million in federal stimulus funding.
IUPUI Plans Science and Engineering Facility
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis will begin construction in January of 2011 on a $25 million science and engineering facility. Located in downtown Indianapolis, the building will house research laboratories, offices, and meeting space for programs in biomedical engineering, psychobiology, and renewable energy. Completion is expected in July of 2012.
Princeton University Designs Andlinger Center for Energy and Environment
Princeton University is planning to construct the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment in Princeton, N.J. The 127,000-sf facility represents an expansion of the School of Engineering and Applied Science and will feature a cleanroom, research laboratories, classrooms, offices, a lecture hall, and conference rooms. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects of New York to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and foster industry partnerships, the facility will be built to meet high standards for sustainable construction.
University of Cincinnati Renovates Kettering Laboratory
The University of Cincinnati is planning a renovation of 8,910 sf in Kettering Laboratory to house environmental health research. Supported by $4.8 million in federal stimulus funding, the project will also include conversion of an existing 4,355 gsf atrium to create interdisciplinary research space. Designed to optimize energy performance and efficiency, the completed facility will house the transdisciplinary Center for Epigenetic Epidemiology.
