Inktomi Expands in Foster City
Inktomi will lease space in the Wilson Cornerstone (now Equity Office) development currently under construction a mile from its Foster City headquarters. Construction began in March 2000 on the sleek 8-story 388,000-sf Parkside Towers which feature a large lobby and parking facility. Inktomi plans to move later this year.
Microsoft Opens Silicon Valley Technology Center
Redmond, Wa.-based Microsoft has opened the new 26,000-sf Silicon Valley Technology Center in Mountain View, Ca., a 10-lab facility enabling businesses to try the company's suite of enterprise software prior to purchasing.
U.S. Dataport to Build Virginia Gateway Internet Campus
San Jose-based developer U.S. Dataport is planning a 2,000,000-sf, $1.4-billion Internet data center campus at a 188-acre site in Gainesville, Va. The 188-acre site is slated to open in early 2002.
U.S. Dataport Builds 188-Acre Campus in Virginia
U.S. Dataport has invested $1.4 billion in a 188-acre Virginia campus co-developed by the Peterson Companies. Ground is being broken on the facility in summer of 2001 with the facility due to open in spring of 2002. As the nation's largest multi-data center facility, the campus will accelerate development of new Internet data networking technologies.
AOL Develops Gainesville Campus
AOL is investing $555 million in a new campus in Gainesville, Va. Ground was broken on the 37-acre Technology Center IV in November of 2000, the day after the investment was announced. The campus is expected to be fully operational by October of 2001.
