Colorado State University Opens Terra Building at National Western Center
Colorado State University opened the Terra Building in Denver in June of 2022. Located on the Spur campus, the 60,000-sf facility offers immersive environments for agricultural research, education, and outreach. Featuring state-of-the-art laboratories and plant growth chambers, the sustainably designed project includes a teaching and culinary kitchen, sensory testing areas, classrooms, a K-12 discovery center, and venues for events and performances.
Elanco Animal Health Breaks Ground on Global Headquarters Campus
Elanco Animal Health broke ground in April of 2022 on its global headquarters campus in Greenfield, Ind. Designed by RATIO Architects and CSO to serve as the foundation of a planned animal health epicenter, the $100 million complex will support collaborative R&D with business incubator High Alpha and AgriNovus, the state of Indiana’s food and agriculture initiative.
University of Wyoming Opens Science Initiative Building
The University of Wyoming opened the $100 million Science Initiative Building in March of 2022 in Laramie. Designed by GSG Architecture and Perkins&Will, the 153,000-sf structure will enhance interaction among multiple disciplines by collocating researchers into a single complex with shared core facilities. Located on the first floor to mitigate vibration, the Center for Advanced Scientific Instrumentation provides electron microscopes, an X-ray refractometer, a mass spectrometer, and micro CT scanners.
Piramal Pharma Selects Merit's FlexiPOD Platform for Antibody Drug Conjugate Facility
Piramal Pharma Solutions broke ground in February of 2022 on a £45 million antibody drug conjugate (ADC) facility in Grangemouth, Scotland. Accommodating both manufacturing and aseptic fill/finish operations, the structure will provide additional capacity for the creation of targeted cancer treatments and other innovative therapies. Representing an expansion of Piramal's existing ADC campus, the project is being delivered by Merit using its FlexiPOD V4.0 platform.
Washington University School of Medicine Plans BSL-3 Laboratory
Washington University School of Medicine will break ground in spring of 2022 on a $150 million vertical expansion of the Steven & Susan Lipstein BJC Institute of Health in St. Louis. Designed by Lawrence Group to promote collaboration and discovery, the six-story, 160,000-sf addition will provide 103,000 sf of biomedical research space and a 7,900-sf BSL-3 laboratory for the study of infectious diseases such as SARS-CoV-2 and tuberculosis.
