
Dr. Eswaraka is the Vice President for University Wide Core services and also the Attending veterinarian. at Rutgers University. He got his DVM from the Madras Veterinary College in India, followed by a PhD in Molecular Virology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis. He did his residency in Laboratory animal medicine also from UTHSC and qualified as a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine. Prior to Rutgers he served in leadership positions in the biotech/pharma industry for 15 years, working as a scientist as well as managing the animal care programs. He has 2 patents and over 25 publications in peer reviewed journals. He is passionate about incorporating cutting edge technology into lab animal operations to obtain operational efficiency and improving animal welfare. He will present on how Rutgers has leveraged technology to reduce cost of operations, improved decision making and better animal welfare.
