Jim Blount, AIA, LEED AP is a principal, senior lab programmer/planner and Life Sciences Market Sector Leader specializing in research and engineering facilities for academic institutions and life sciences companies. Jim has dedicated his career to architecture for the sciences. A particular area of his interest and expertise is the exploration and development of highly versatile and innovative sustainable design solutions. Jim is a member of our Research Practice and Sustainability committee. He is a past president of the New England Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) and a past board member of National I2SL. Jim regularly serves as a juror in the Annual Lab Design Excellence Awards and is a frequent speaker at many national and international forums addressing innovative laboratory planning and sustainable design topics.
