University of Virginia Constructs Manning Institute for Biotechnology
The University of Virginia is constructing the $350 million Paul and Diane Manning Institute for Biotechnology in Charlottesville to catalyze breakthroughs in the fields of cellular therapy, gene therapy, nanotechnology, and drug delivery. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, the flexible building will provide 355,809 sf of space for leading-edge laboratories, core facilities, advanced manufacturing suites, and clinical environments.
University of Arkansas Opens Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation
The University of Arkansas opened the Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation in August of 2025 in Fayetteville. Designed by Grafton Architects and Modus Studio, the 44,763-sf facility will enable the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design to advance the discovery and development of innovative timber construction modalities. The six-story project features an 11,000-sf high bay zone for fabrication and design-build activities, connected to teaching spaces above by a central atrium.
University of Nevada, Reno Opens College of Business
The University of Nevada opened the John Tulloch Business Building in August of 2025 in Reno. Designed by LMN Architects, the $155 million facility will serve as a hub for pedagogical excellence and innovation for the College of Business. Spanning 128,000 sf, the five-story structure features a 300-seat auditorium, interactive study spaces, and dynamic classrooms that integrate sophisticated technologies to support case method teaching strategies.
Brown University Constructs Danoff Life Sciences Labs
Brown University is constructing the William A. and Ami Kuan Danoff Laboratories in Providence’s Jewelry District to support integrated life sciences research. The 300,000-sf facility was designed by TenBerke and Ballinger to catalyze innovation and the commercialization of impactful scientific and medical breakthroughs. The seven-story building will provide six levels of wet and dry laboratories and research cores for programs in biology, medicine, neuroscience, bioengineering, and public health.
New Las Vegas Stadium Planned for the Athletics
The Athletics, also known as the Oakland A's, are planning a $1.75 billion stadium that will become the team’s new home in Las Vegas. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group & HNTB, the climate-controlled ballpark will accommodate 33,000 occupants, with 30,000 seats equipped with an underseat cooling system that is the first of its kind in Major League Baseball (MLB). A covered roof comprising five pennant arches will deliver soft, natural light while mitigating glare for both the audience and the players.
