Middlebury, VT - Middlebury College's Bicentennial Hall was just awarded "Lab of the Year" by R&D Magazine. The 108,000 GSF building is home to offices for six departments--psychology, physics, geology, geography, chemistry and biochemistry, and biology. The building features an innovative and flexible configuration patterns that allows it to be converted from a biology lab one semester to a geology lab the next--a tabled classroom, a lecture room, and an open-floor utility space. ARAMARK Facilities Services was retained as the building commissioning agent for the College. The company's design review, functional performance testing, inspection, and operator training efforts resulted in over $800 thousand in capital cost savings and over $80 thousand in annual operating cost savings.
