Published 2/18/2002

The Los Angeles Regional Crime Laboratory Facility Authority has selected the architectural team of HarleyEllis of Detroit and their Los Angeles affiliate Fields Deveraux Architects Engineers to program the new Los Angeles Regional Forensics Science Crime Laboratory. The $96-million, 260,000-sf structure will serve the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the California Department of Justice, and California State University at Los Angeles (CSULA), where the facility will be located.  The project will bridge the leadership of local, county, and state law enforcement agencies with a cost-efficient crime laboratory. CSULA’s Department of Criminal Justice, in a working relationship with LAPD and LASD, will expand academic offerings, attract criminal justice and forensics scholars, and support models for effective crime fighting in the community.
