Published 10/14/2008

William Beaumont Hospital began building the $200 million North Pavilion in Royal Oak, Mich., in fall of 2008. Construction will reach completion in 2010 with occupancy expected by 2011. The five-story facility will include a 360,000-sf emergency center, a 36-bed ICU, operating rooms, and support. Beaumont Hospital began construction in June of 2007 on a 558,000-sf multi-phased project in Troy, Mich. Comprised of a 223,000-sf emergency and critical care tower, a three-story ambulatory care center, a 5,400-sf MRI addition, and a vertical expansion of the West Tower, the project is slated for completion in October of 2010. The facilities were designed by Harley Ellis Devereaux and are being constructed by a joint venture of Skanska USA Building and Barton Malow. Additionally, Beaumont Hospital will break ground in December of 2008 on a $159 million proton therapy center.
