UC Berkeley Dedicates CITRIS Headquarters

The University of California, Berkeley dedicated the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) headquarters on February 27, 2009. Located in the seven-story, 141,000-gsf Sutardja Dai Hall, the facility features the Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory which contains two 15,000-sf cleanrooms. The multidisciplinary building houses research laboratories, offices, distance learning classrooms, conference rooms, and a 149-seat auditorium. Comprised of five stories above ground and two basement levels, the facility will support research in clean energy, smart infrastructure, and health care technology. Sutardja Dai Hall was designed by SmithGroup and built by general contractor Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction.
