RAJ Sports broke ground in May of 2025 on a dual-sport performance center for professional women's soccer and basketball in Hillsboro, Ore. Designed by Populous, the $150 million project will create a collaborative setting with premium wellness amenities for the Portland Thorns Football Club and a new WNBA team. Uniquely tailored to the needs of female athletes, the complex will feature an elite training core that integrates leading-edge strength and conditioning modalities with sports science, sports medicine, and advanced recovery therapies.
The first $75 million phase of construction will provide a 63,000-sf training facility, a 17,000-sf practice gym with two full-size basketball courts, and two full-size soccer pitches with an outdoor training zone. With dedicated team dressing rooms and a dining room with a full-time chef and nutritionist, the welcoming center will also include a room for yoga and pilates. Team meeting rooms will promote cohesion on and off the fields, and social media rooms will enable the creation of content to drive fan engagement. Players will benefit from private parking and entrances for convenience and security.
Developed in partnership with Workspace Property Trust, the adaptive reuse project will transform an existing suburban office complex that was formerly occupied by Nike. The leased facility will integrate sustainable construction materials and highly efficient systems upon completion in spring of 2026. The 12-acre campus is envisioned as a global destination for women's sport and will be built out in several phases to accommodate future uses.
