High Tech High School Expands at Point Loma's Liberty Station

San Diego Unified School District's High Tech High School has purchased the 38,900-sf Building 49 at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Buildings 36, 37 and 51 will be acquired by summer of 2003, bringing the school's total square footage to 93,107. Located on the site of the former Naval Training Facility, High Tech High School, a public charter school, will occupy 22 of Liberty Station's 361 acres. The site redeveloper is Corky McMillin Cos. of National City.

Northside Hospital Constructs Office Tower Atop Parking Structure

Northside Hospital in Atlanta plans to begin construction on a five-story medical office facility in summer of 2003. The tower will be constructed atop an existing parking facility. Northside is also seeking state approval to build a $10.7-million, 1,000-car parking deck adjacent to its women's center. The hospital hopes to initiate construction on the nine-level parking deck in March 2003 and reach completion in early 2004.

Alameda County GSA Plans Headquarters

The Alameda County General Services Agency has signed a 30-year lease for the planned Thomas L. Berkeley Square development in Oakland. The 101,000-sf facility will serve as the Social Services Agency's administrative headquarters and will consolidate divisions currently dispersed across Oakland. The North Alameda County Self Sufficiency Center, a welfare job training program, will also be housed in the building.
