Rochester Institute of Technology Plans Sports Center
Rochester Institute of Technology has selected Cannon Design to design its sports and entertainment facility, including an aquatic facility and fitness center, three indoor field separations and a field house.
Nitronex Occupies Raleigh Office and Lab Facility
Nitronex, a manufacturer of semiconductor chips that increase speed and capacity for wireless applications, recently occupied a new 69,000-sf office/laboratory at the Lincoln Park West business park. The company employs 55 people.
Vanguard Completes Three Malvern Campus Buildings
Vanguard Group has completed construction of three 120,000-sf structures at its 300-acre campus in Malvern. The company is beginning preliminary work on an additional 2.5 million sf, with phase one construction on the proposed project starting as early as spring 2002. The multi-phased project would begin with two buildings, each 320,000 sf, on 70 acres of the company’s 250-acre Downington campus.
Allstate Will Occupy New San Antonio Office Building
Allstate Corp. plans to occupy 50,030 sf at a new 70,000-sf office building under construction at Twin Oaks Office Park in North Central San Antonio. The Northbrook, Ill.-based national insurance company will be the major tenant at Two Twin Oaks, which has 67,000 sf net rental space available.
Abbott Labs plans R&D HQ
Abbot Labs, based in Illinois, is proposing to build a West Coast R&D headquarters at the former 35-acre Cargill Salt site in Redwood City. The site is adjacent to Perclose, the medical device manufacturer recently purchased by Abbott. Phase I of the one-million-sf project would accommodate approximately 500 employees in 250,000 sf of lab and office space, where the pharmaceutical and diagnostic company will expand its cardiac product line. By the end of 2002, Abbott anticipates completion of the planning, design, and review of the project.
