New York Library For The Performing Arts Renovation Completed

A $37 million renovation of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has been completed by Polshek Partnership Architects of New York. Reopening on October 15, 2001, the renovation unites all four Research Collections. The Unified Research Collections Reading Room features Low-E glass to protect the Library material. A new exhibition hall, the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery, features an advanced track lighting system which provides both legibility and artifact protection.

Pharm-Eco Labs Opens Chemistry Services Plant

Pharm-Eco Laboratories Inc., a provider of chemistry outsourcing services for drug candidates in preclinical development through Phase II trials, recently opened a 160,000-sf plant on the site of the former Fort Devens. Pharm-Eco plans to acquire additional space in this facility and maintain its 25,000-sf North Andover Lab.

UT-San Antonio To Build New Biotechnology, Sciences & Engineering Building

The University of Texas at San Antonio plans to develop its Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building with $22.9 million received from a $1 billion state revenue bond initiative for new projects. The $64 million facility is currently in the programming stage which should be completed by September. Architect of record for the project, which has not yet entered the design phase, is FPK of Houston.

University of Denver Plans New College of Law Facility

The University of Denver is planning a new College of Law facility. The 191,000-sf building will be designed by Boston-based Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott and H+L Architects of Denver, and will feature structured and underground parking for 800 vehicles.
