The Department of Defense has contracted with Consolidated Engineering Services of Arlington for the operation and maintenance of three buildings in Northern Virginia and the District.

The management contract for a building that will house government contractors has been awarded to Cushman & Wakefield's Washington office. Completion of the facility is scheduled for early 2001.

The FBI has hired Clark Construction of Bethesda, Md., as general contractor for a $106 million project. A 460,000-sf forensics lab and a 28,000-sf utility plant will be built at Quantico for the laboratory division, which will relocate from the Bureau's District of Columbia headquarters.

American Nevada Builds Henderson Office Buildings

American Nevada is working with general contractor McCarthy’s Las Vegas office for the construction of two office buildings on eight acres at the company’s Green Valley Corporate Center. Tilt-up construction is being used for the $4.3-million project to complete the buildings by April 2001. The 45,000-sf structures will feature finished lobbies, high performace reflective glass, and aluminum clad exterior balconies. McCarthy is also constructing surface parking at the site. The project architect is Howard F. Thompson Architects of Irvine, Calif.

Cisco Develops RTP Campus

Cisco Systems, based in San Jose, Calif., recently began construction at its nine-building campus on three 200,000-sf buildings: buildings 10, 11, and 12. These buildings were designed by O’Brien/Atkins Associates of Durham, N.C. Bovis/Lend Lease, based in Raleigh, N.C., is the general contractor. When the buildings are completed in 2001, construction will begin on three more buildings—buildings 13, 14, and 15—which will total 500,000 sf. Cisco currently houses 3,000 employees at the site. The additional six buildings will accommodate 3,500 employees.
