UI Health Care Opens North Liberty Campus
University of Iowa Health Care opened the North Liberty campus in April of 2025 to improve patient access to world-class care and advance medical research and education. Designed by Neumann Monson Architects to offer a full range of musculoskeletal services, the 469,050-sf development accommodates the UI Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and UI Sports Medicine. In one three-story wing, a 30,000-sf hospital provides 36 inpatient beds, 12 operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and an emergency department with a Level IV trauma center.
Plenary Health Constructs New Footscray Hospital
Plenary Health is partnering with Western Health and the Government of Victoria to construct a 1.6 million-gsf hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Designed by COX and Billard Leece Partnership, the world-class medical center will replace the existing Footscray Hospital, addressing increased regional demand and optimizing patient outcomes.
LSU Health Shreveport Plans Medical Research Facility
Louisiana State University Health Shreveport (LSUHS) will establish the Cancer and Cardiovascular Research Facility to showcase the institution’s innovative activities and groundbreaking discoveries. The first phase of the adaptive reuse project involves the renovation of 92,500 sf in a former 181,000-sf department store to provide open labs, offices, a vivarium, and support areas.
Medical College of Wisconsin Builds Center for Cancer Discovery
The Medical College of Wisconsin is constructing the $153 million Center for Cancer Discovery on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus. Centralizing the university’s cancer research programs under one roof, this dynamic hub will catalyze discoveries in cancer biology, expand clinical trials, and create groundbreaking treatments for patients.
Cleveland Clinic Builds Neurological Institute
Cleveland Clinic is constructing the $1.1 billion Neurological Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. The 1.2 million-sf translational research facility will consolidate 15 separate centers to catalyze interdisciplinary synergies and improve patient outcomes. Spanning fourteen stories, the state-of-the-art hospital will offer a comprehensive array of services such as neuro-simulation training, infusion therapy, neurodiagnostics, brain mapping suites, imaging, and digitized patient evaluations.
