Jones Lang LaSalle and Pacific Medical Buildings Form National Strategic Development Alliance
Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and Pacific Medical Buildings (PMB) have announced the formation of a strategic alliance to deliver ground-up real estate solutions to healthcare organizations. The venture looks to capitalize on the strengths of each organization, combining PMB's investment capital, track record of developing healthcare facilities, and national reputation with Jones Lang LaSalle's consulting and development expertise, local execution capabilities, and national business development relationships.
Raytheon Builds Public Safety Regional Technology Center
Raytheon will open the 27,000-sf Public Safety Regional Technology Center in Downey, Calif., in September of 2011. Raytheon has invested $2 million in renovating the facility, which will support the creation of advanced communication technologies for public safety agencies. The building will house research and testing laboratories, training areas, and space for logistics, maintenance, and systems support.
New York University Plans College of Nursing
New York University is planning to build a 170,000-sf facility for the College of Nursing in New York City. Designed by EYP Architecture & Engineering and KPF, the $140 million project is expected to reach completion in fall of 2013.
Clemson University Builds Wind Turbine Testing Facility
Clemson University is building a wind turbine drivetrain testing facility in North Charleston, S.C. The project team includes AEC Engineering and Choate Construction. The $98 million project involves conversion of an existing warehouse to provide research, development, and testing space for offshore wind turbines. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility. Completion is expected in late 2012.
Siemens Builds Wind Service Distribution Center
Siemens Energy began construction in May of 2011 on a wind service distribution center in Woodward, Okla. The 64,000-sf project will include two buildings to supply customers and industry partners with turbine blades, drive assemblies, and generators. Completion is expected in late 2011.
