San Bernardino Valley College Completes Four Facilities

San Bernardino Valley College opened four new facilities in August of 2010. The three-story, 55,000-sf North Hall houses classrooms for arts, humanities, social science, and criminal justice. An 18,000-sf media center, a 5,600-sf custodial building, and a 7,700-sf maintenance and operations building were also constructed. The four facilities have a total footprint of 82,000 sf and a construction cost of $55 million. Additionally, a 40,000-sf science building is slated for occupancy in 2011.

Canadian Government Plans High Arctic Research Facility

The Canadian federal government has selected Cambridge Bay in Nunavut as the site for the planned High Arctic research station. The multidisciplinary facility will operate year-round and is slated for occupancy in 2017. Featuring advanced laboratories and a technology development center, the station will support research on climate change, resource development, and health surveillance.

Swedish Health Builds Everett Medical Center

Swedish Health is constructing a $30 million healthcare facility in Everett, Wash. The three-story, 86,770-sf building will house an emergency department, primary care, an on-site laboratory, and specialty services. Featuring advanced diagnostic imaging, the 24-hour facility will accommodate up to 35,000 patient visits annually.
