University of Miami to Build Student Housing Complex

The University of Miami is planning to construct a residential complex for upper-class students on the Coral Gables campus. Designed by Arquitectonica, the 573,804-sf facility will comprise two towers offering a majority of single-occupancy rooms. The first building will rise nine stories high and provide more than 730 beds throughout 222 units, and the second ten-floor structure will house over 720 beds across 207 units.

The University of Virginia is constructing the $350 million Paul and Diane Manning Institute for Biotechnology in Charlottesville to catalyze breakthroughs in the fields of cellular therapy, gene therapy, nanotechnology, and drug delivery. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, the flexible building will provide 355,809 sf of space for leading-edge laboratories, core facilities, advanced manufacturing suites, and clinical environments.

Lee Health Constructs New Hospital on Fort Myers Medical Campus

Lee Health broke ground in January of 2025 on a 416,000-sf acute care facility in Fort Myers that will replace Lee Memorial. Representing an investment of approximately $434 million, the five-story, 168-bed hospital will accommodate 10 inpatient operating rooms, a 44-bed emergency room, and 24 intensive care unit beds. Patient rooms will integrate the latest smart technology for connected care to optimize scheduling, clinical support, and personalized interventions.

College of the Desert Begins Construction of Palm Springs Campus

Designed by WRNS Studio, this regional hub for education and innovation will provide dry labs, maker spaces, and studios for architecture, recording, and film. With multiple buildings spanning 27 acres, the 175,000-sf complex features The Accelerator, a two-story structure accommodating programs in digital media and arts, healthcare, and architecture.
