Montierre Development Plans Revolutionary Sports Tourism Hub

Montierre Development will begin construction in early 2025 on The Dynasty Ocoee, a world-class destination for sport tourism in Florida. Designed by AECOM and MDSX, the 159-acre complex will feature 17 multisport fields, two hotels, and 350,000 sf of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space. A 150,000-sf indoor sports facility will leverage advanced technologies to train players to their maximum potential, including immersive simulation and smart equipment with data-tracking capabilities to provide constant feedback.

New Las Vegas Stadium Planned for the Athletics

The Athletics, also known as the Oakland A's, are planning a $1.75 billion stadium that will become the team’s new home in Las Vegas. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group & HNTB, the climate-controlled ballpark will accommodate 33,000 occupants, with 30,000 seats equipped with an underseat cooling system that is the first of its kind in Major League Baseball (MLB). A covered roof comprising five pennant arches will deliver soft, natural light while mitigating glare for both the audience and the players.

NYC Football Club Breaks Ground on Etihad Park Stadium

New York City Football Club broke ground in December 2024 on Etihad Park in the Willets Point neighborhood of Queens. Designed by HOK, the 24,851-seat development will be the first fully-electric stadium in the nation and the first professional soccer-specific stadium in New York. New York City FC will pay approximately $780 million in building costs for the privately financed project, which is slated for completion in early 2027.

University of Central Florida's Stadium Expansion Will Feature Premium Seating

The University of Central Florida broke ground in December of 2024 on the Roth Tower at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando. Representing a pivotal addition to the Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village, the 85,600-sf project is made possible by a $90 million commitment of Tourist Development Tax revenues from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. AECOM designed the four-level facility with premium amenities to redefine the fan experience, including expanded club spaces, luxury suites, shaded seating, and all-inclusive food and beverage options.

The renovation of 227,000 sf of existing space involved significant upgrades to building systems, minimizing vibration impacts to diagnostic imaging equipment and robotic-assisted surgical procedures.

The Charlotte Hornets will break ground in early 2025 on a state-of-the-art performance facility adjacent to the existing Spectrum Center. Designed by Populous, the 160,000-sf building will feature 100,000 sf of space for training, conditioning, and practice, as well as areas for recovery and rehabilitation. The Hornet's business operations will occupy 35,000 sf in the building, complemented by 2,500 sf of ground-level retail to activate the fan experience. Designed by Crawford Architects in association with Ryan A&E, the $175 million development will bring hockey onto the Saint Paul campus for the first time. Northwestern University broke ground in June of 2024 on Ryan Field, an $800 million stadium and community destination in Evanston, Ill. Designed by HNTB with Perkins&Will as associate architect, the replacement facility will reduce seating capacity to 35,000, bringing fans much closer to the field for a more engaging and intimate experience. Wide concourses and terraces with unobstructed viewing areas and refreshment stands will provide plenty of room for gathering, complemented by numerous outdoor plazas and green spaces.
