Scottish Agricultural College Opens Beef Research Center

Published 2/5/2009

The Scottish Agricultural College opened a £1.3 million beef research center near Edinburgh in Easter Howgate in February of 2009. Funded in part by the Scottish Government, the 3,000-sm facility can house up to 500 bovines. Designed for flexibility, the building will enable researchers to alter operational layouts to study animal production, genetic improvement, behavior, welfare, and greenhouse gas reduction.
