UMass Memorial Health Care Opens Cancer Center

UMass Memorial Health Care opened its 14,000-sf Cancer Center at Marlborough Hospital in September of 2013. Designed by The S/L/A/M Collaborative, the $12.8 million facility features an illuminated entrance pavilion, an infusion therapy space with abundant natural light, and a healing garden with a reflecting pool. The Cancer Center houses an advanced linear accelerator and a CT Simulator for diagnostic imaging.  The project is one of the first in New England completed under the LEAN delivery concept of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) led by UMass Memorial, The S/L/A/M Collaborative, and Tocci Building Companies. Other project team members include C.A. Senecal Electrical Services, Renaud HVAC & Controls, Youngblood Plumbing and Heating, and Covenant Fire Protection. Construction began on the facility in spring of 2012 with substantial completion in March of 2013.
