Methodist University Hospital Breaks Ground on Memphis Expansion

Methodist Health broke ground in October of 2016 on a $280 million expansion of Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Designed by HKS and Self + Tucker Architects to enhance flow and efficiency, the project includes a nine-story, 440,000-sf tower housing private patient rooms, a comprehensive cancer center, outpatient clinics, healing gardens, and the two-story Transplant Institute. General contractor Turner Construction is utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the construction of facility. Completion is expected in early 2019. Methodist University Hospital is the major academic campus and primary teaching hospital of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
