Skidmore College Plans Center for Integrated Sciences

Skidmore College is planning to build the $100 million Center for Integrated Sciences in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Designed by Payette, the 200,000-sf project will support programs in biology, chemistry, physics, neuroscience, psychology, geoscience, environmental science, mathematics, computer science, and health and exercise science. Comprising 115,000 sf new construction and 85,000 sf of renovated space, the completed facility will provide 46 research labs, 22 teaching labs, 16 classrooms and meeting rooms, instrumentation suites, an idea lab, offices, and a three-story atrium. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the center, which will feature chilled beams, a geothermal system, and a louvered façade.
