Published 1/27/2017

The State of Georgia will break ground in spring of 2017 on the $100 million Hull McKnight Georgia Cyber Center for Innovation and Training in Augusta. Located next to Augusta University’s planned Riverfront Campus, the 332,000-sf facility will enable researchers from academia, industry, government, and the military to collaboratively develop innovative cybersecurity technologies. The project will include a business incubator, a 330-seat auditorium, space for workforce training programs, and a cyber range where computer attacks can be launched in a safe environment. Completion is expected in July of 2018. Augusta University was designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense in late 2016 by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
