Olympic College opened the $46.5 million College Instruction Center in January of 2018 in Bremerton, Wash. Designed by Schacht Aslani Architects to support programs in health sciences and the arts, the 70,000-sf facility features a 276-seat theater with movable walls that can accommodate lectures, performances, and events. Providing sophisticated simulation training suites for programs in nursing and allied health professions, the building also offers active learning classrooms, a two-story atrium, visual arts studios, film production and editing suites, music rooms, and a gallery. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility, which features 90 percent heat recovery and a photovoltaic array. Construction began on the project in September of 2015.
