The University of Cincinnati is constructing the $76.6 million Clifton Court Hall to unify social science programs into a vibrant ecosystem of research, learning, and engagement. Designed by LMN Architects and KZF Design, the 180,000-gsf structure will collocate the departments of psychology, philosophy, journalism, German studies, and Romance and Arabic languages with the School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Communication, Film, and Media Studies. With an emphasis on functional flexibility in response to changing programmatic needs and evolving pedagogies, Clifton Court Hall will provide specialized labs, multifunctional gathering areas, 230 faculty and staff offices, and 24 classrooms offering 1,000 additional seats in a mix of flat-floor, lecture, and auditoria spaces. Accented by an iconic floating staircase, a large central atrium will anchor a series of collaboration zones and team rooms connected by open internal circulation.

The project team includes general contractor Messer Construction, structural engineer Buro Happold, and mechanical engineer IMEG. KZF is also providing civil engineering, interior design, and project management services. The facility is expected to attain LEED Silver sustainable design certification. Occupancy is slated for spring of 2023.
