Auburn University opened the $83 million Advanced Classroom and Laboratory Complex (ACLC) in fall of 2022. Designed by Perkins&Will, the 151,000-sf facility provides flexible learning venues, teaching and research labs, and over 12,000 sf of informal interaction space. On the ground floor, a trio of lecture halls with integrated audiovisual recording technologies can seat 96, 200, and 300 students respectively. The three-story structure offers six Engaged Active Student Learning (EASL) rooms and 20 instructional environments that can function as either classrooms or labs on a semester-to-semester basis. Targeting LEED Silver certification, the sustainably designed building features a soaring atrium with a collaborative staircase where students can gather, study, and relax. Representing over a decade of academic planning, the complex also houses the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning to provide Auburn faculty with unique resources for pedagogical innovation and transformation. Rabren General Contractors broke ground on the project in spring of 2019.
