AdventHealth is launching a strategic expansion of its Orlando campus to address a growing demand for world-class care in Central Florida. Representing an investment of more than $1 billion, the project includes the construction of a 14-story, 595,000-sf tower housing 24 advanced operating rooms, 440 inpatient beds, and space for endoscopy and imaging procedures. A healing garden will feature sheltered seating areas and inspiring outdoor settings.
Designed by HuntonBrady, the $660 million facility will be constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie. Other project team members include TLC Engineering Solutions, Walter P Moore, Poulos & Bennett, TJNG Partners, Foster Conant & Associates, and Maia Consulting. Occupancy is anticipated in 2030.
This visionary initiative will support the addition of new services in a range of medical specialties. The Genomics Risk Assessment for Cancer and Early Detection (GRACE) program will leverage sophisticated AI technologies to analyze an individual's family and medical history. Robotic-assisted kidney transplants will enhance patient outcomes, and the Little Miracles Unit will provide neonatal ICU capacity for infants born as early as 22 weeks.
The investment will also drive the creation of further residency and fellowship programs to train and attract more physicians to the region. By 2029, the institution aims to expand accredited programs from 24 to 33, and increase the number of residents and fellows from 358 to 467. AdventHealth University, which is located on the Orlando campus, is expected to enroll approximately 2,000 students in 2025, with the goal to reach 3,000 by 2030. A new simulation center will offer technology-rich environments where the workforce of the future will gain vital skills and competencies.
Spanning 172 acres, the AdventHealth Orlando campus is dynamically evolving into a national destination for medical education, breakthrough treatments, surgical innovation, and pioneering research. The site currently accommodates the nationally recognized AdventHealth Institutes, AdventHealth for Women, AdventHealth for Children, residences, lodging, and more.
