The University of Oklahoma is planning the $450 million Palace Project to reimagine the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman. Designed by Populous, the renovation of the west side will intentionally decrease seating capacity by 7,000 to add 47 suites, 64 loge boxes, and approximately 4,000 club seats. The fan experience will be elevated by improved sightlines, a more spacious environment, ADA-compliant seating, and new gathering spaces, including six premium club and lounge venues.
Emphasizing comfort, engagement, and accessibility, expanded concourses will feature increased amenities such as new marketplace concession stands and updated restrooms. A sideline-oriented lighting system will work in concert with an advanced sound system to magnify the gameday atmosphere and enhance the homefield advantage. The press box will also be modernized.
This dynamic transformation will be delivered by Manhattan Construction Group. Groundbreaking is expected in 2027 and completion is anticipated in 2029. Future phases of the football stadium masterplan will focus on the north end zone and may increase the structure’s capacity once again.
