Macau University Breaks Ground on Zhuhai Campus

The University of Macau officially broke ground in December of 2009 on its new Hengqin Island campus in Zhuhai, China. Providing world class education and research facilities, the campus will be able to accommodate over 10,000 students. Completion is expected within three years.

Saint Vincent College Builds Dupré Science Pavilion

Saint Vincent College is building the $39 million Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion in Latrobe, Pa. The 102,000-gsf facility will serve as the home of the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing. Housing laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, offices, and conference rooms, the Dupré Science Pavilion will enable the college to expand interdisciplinary programs in biotechnology and environmental science.

SRI Opens Marine Science R&D Facility

SRI International celebrated the opening of its 37,000-sf marine R&D facility in St. Petersburg, Fla., in December of 2009. The $11 million facility can accommodate 100 investigators and staff engaged in marine science and technology research. The two-story building was designed by HOK and built by Manhattan Construction Company. The facility includes laboratories, offices, classrooms, conference rooms, a machine shop, and a hangar bay. Almac Group Builds Headquarters and Production Facility

Almac Group is building a $78.5 million headquarters and pharmaceutical production complex in Lower Salford Township, Pa. The 240,000-sf, two-building project includes a 74,500-sf office building and a 165,600-sf production facility. The complex was designed by Francis Cauffman Architects, Genesis Engineering, and Barry Isett & Associates. The construction manager for the project is Skanska USA Building. Construction began on the facilities in July of 2008 and completion is expected in 2010.
