Gold Coast University Hospital Breaks Ground in Molendinar

Gold Coast University Hospital broke ground in February of 2009 on its $1.55 billion healthcare facility Molendinar, Queensland, Australia. The 10-story teaching and research hospital will be comprised of two towers providing 750 beds. The sustainably designed facility is being built by Bovis Lend Lease and is slated for completion by December of 2012.

Nemours Children's Hospital Builds Lake Nona Facility

Nemours Children’s Hospital broke ground on its $400 million facility in the Lake Nona area of Orlando in February of 2009. The 62,000-sf, 95-bed pediatric hospital will include an emergency department, ambulatory care, and research facilities. Occupancy is expected in 2012.

St. Mary's Hospital Constructs Patient Tower

St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center is constructing a 434,000-sf patient tower in Grand Junction, Colo. Housing surgical suites and inpatient care, the addition is slated for completion in late 2010. The patient tower is part of the $276 million Century Project which also includes 75,660-sf of renovation to the existing hospital.

UC Davis Plans Wine and Food Science Research Center

The University of California, Davis is planning to construct the Research and Teaching Winery and August A. Busch III Brewing and Food Science Laboratory in Davis, Calif. Part of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science, the 34,000-sf facility is slated for completion in 2010. The Brewing and Food Science Laboratory will include a food processing pilot plant, a dairy processing suite, and a pilot brewery for the Department of Food Science and Technology.
