Edward Waters College Expands Jacksonville Campus
Edward Waters College has selected the Jacksonville office of Skanska USA Building as construction manager for its campus expansion in Jacksonville, Fla. The six building expansion includes a multipurpose athletic building for court games, a library, classrooms, retail shops, a 200-room dormitory, and a hotel. The expansion will proceed in phases. Four facilities are currently being designed and construction is scheduled to start in early 2004 and will reach completion for the incoming 2005 fall class. A second wave of construction will follow close behind.
Ochsner Clinic Designs New Orleans Cancer Center
Ochsner Clinic Foundation has selected TRO/The Ritchie Organization to design a 68,000-sf, three-story cancer center in New Orleans. The center will be comprised of radiation therapy, hematology oncology, chemotherapy, miscellaneous oncology subspecialties, and clinical trials research.
NitroMed Expands with Lexington Move
Pharmaceutical company NitroMed Inc. is expanding its corporate headquarters and research facilities with a relocation from Bedford to Lexington, Mass. The site, 52,000-sf of renovated space at the Spring Street Technology Park, was previously the headquarters of Raytheon Co. NitroMed is currently developing nitric oxide-enhancing medicines to treat heart disease.
Presbyterian Hospital Expands Dallas Facility
Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas will begin construction on a $160- to $180-million expansion project in July of 2004. The three-part project will add 180 beds and over 300 parking spaces.
Omnicell Occupies Mountain View Headquarters
Omnicell Inc., a maker of patient safety software, has moved into its new headquarters in Mountain View, Calif. The 87,000-sf facility will accommodate engineering, training, manufacturing, marketing, and corporate functions. The building is 50 percent larger than the three separate facilities previously occupied by Omnicell in Palo Alto, Calif.
