University of Sacramento Plans Campus

The University of Sacramento is planning to develop a private Catholic University at two locations in the Sacramento region. The $350-million project includes the construction of a full-service 250-acre residential campus at Mahler Field and the lease of 55,000-sf in downtown or midtown Sacramento for a graduate school of education, possibly with a bioethics institute. The graduate school is expected to open in 2005, with the residential campus ready to accommodate 7,000 students and 800 faculty in 2007.

Analogic Corp. Builds Peabody Facility

Analogic Corp. is planning to construct an additional 100,000 sf facility on its 65-acre Peabody headquarters campus. The development will accommodate the relocation of two company divisions to the campus. Life Care Systems, a fetal monitoring division, will vacate a 41,000-sf building six miles from the Peabody campus. Sky Computers Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Analogic, will relocate from Chelmsford.

Tiffany & Co. Create Precious Metal Processing Facility

Tiffany & Co. of Cranston, R.I., have selected Integrated Builders of Braintree to renovate and retrofit approximately 30,000 sf of existing industrial space as a precious metal processing facility. SMRT of Portland is serving as architect and engineer for the $2.7-million project.

University of the Pacific School of Dentistry Plans Expansion

The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry is planning to develop the $15-million Molinari Project, an addition to the western side of the school’s San Francisco campus. The 60,000-sf expansion will house a clinical research center, new simulation and clinical facilities, a professional development center, student housing, and several stories of underground parking.

Centocor Relocates Headquarters to Spring House

Centocor is planning to construct a new headquarters facility in Spring House, Pa., doubling the capacity of the Malvern site that the company will vacate. Occupancy is slated for the fourth quarter of 2005, with construction reaching completion by the end of 2006. Centocor will also relocate a majority of its operations from locations in Malvern, Radnor, and Trediffryn to 200,000-sf at the Commonwealth Corporate Center Horsham. The space will accommodate between 700 and 800 employees and will be renovated prior to the relocation.
